the true techno dream team of dubfire & oliver huntemann revisit their elements project from a few years ago with a new series of killer remixes, ahead of a retrospective album coming later in the year. terra - originally released in 2011, did all sorts of damage to dance-floors across the globe. now, its all set to do it again thanks to this joseph capriati remix. the italian techno headliner has grown into a major force on the scene in recent years, and here delivers a signature slice of muscular, driving techno - taut, dramatic and devastating. paired with a remix of the now seminal feugo julien jeweils remix also hits the spot - the track received a 2016 overhaul with some of jeweils signature flair. the frenchman has been a constant figure on the top of various charts and line ups for some time, and its easy to see why - fuego is stripped back machine funk primed for big systems and even bigger moments.

this track has been in my computer since a little while when dj sotofett joined me here in amsterdam, to play an epic back to back at the school (amazing new club here). when i am doing a track, it could go to a lot of different directions as im jamming them for hours in my pipe studio. i sometimes could get lost. so i asked sotofett to join me in the studio to help to finish it. then we ended with those 2 versions of cham, which are, as often when i work with the sextags man, the result of live takes almost unedited. we also add some percussions from shadi khries and we recorded two versions of the same track within hours. one being bass driven with a lot of psychedelic noises and the other one more space-techno. our adventures continues, here is another slice of spaced out music.hope you ll enjoy.

the bush is a homage to the place where i have lived for the last decade (askew road). the askew road itself is slowly changing so i wanted to document all the places that play a big part in mine and my families lives before they eventually get sold for more flats or tescos. 002 was all about the mighty sun pub which has now been sold and transformed into a costa coffee and an estate agents. next up is our local park which hopefully will never see change as its been our little slice of heaven in w12 since we moved here.

karlsruhe based dj/producer roman muhlschlegel dropped his first musical gems back in 2008. inspired by disco and funk and working from an analogue-heavy studio, the german turns out smooth, deep and groovy house with touch of elegance and slice of grit. for his petra digital/vinyl debut the soul estate label boss has crafted two fresh and original gems in sweet but stinky and hot tea with sugar, both of which are backed by remixes. fellow german peter clamat gets to grips with the opening number whilst amsterdams nachtbraker reworks the title track.

argentinian producer, live act and tech whizkid alexis cabrera is back with a brand new release, a slice of stepping house, laced with minimal aesthetics on fun records, the recently christened label that he set up with fellow argentinian barem. the label emblem may be just an innocent looking balloon, but the contents of this vinyl release are far from lofty and full of hot air, instead grounding the listener through a mix of organic sound and digital dancefloor rhythms.

earlier this year, an email dropped into the claremont 56 inbox. it was from a producer in the early stages of his musical career called simon peter, and contained a joyous slice of languid, organic balearica entitled ‘arc of lark’. suitably impressed, claremont 56 boss paul murphy had no hesitation in snapping up the track right away.

british born and now based in berlin, dead fader aka john cohen, most known for his work on robot elephant records and the brilliant collaboration with sensational on the ‘work it, no’ ep, now joins the touchin’ bass roster with the ‘dosage’ ep, a heavy duty, unrepentant body of work that exposes john’s diversity. easing you in gently is ‘booze lair’, a slow building, infernal, smacked out foray that is both biting and compelling, followed by ‘tired’, a fiercely adrenaline-charged, dynamic workout that moves and mutates, heavily laced with abrasive textures. the title track ‘dosage’ is a straight up slice, filled with cranks and grinds which jars and grates, punctuated with weighty subversive beats and a low res undertone, followed by the calm after the storm, ‘easy sun’. an epic piece, pushing distortion to the max. no nonsense, this is one heavy slab of vinyl. solid!

einzelkind returns to infuse, this time teaming up with simon birkenfeld for their new project hot city orchestra. the observatory ep kicks off with futuro, a deliciously tripped out slice of house whilst flipsides title track the observatory ploughs a deeper furrow with warm pads imbuing the track with a subtle uplifting flavour

mannequin records is elated to present a selection of the killer “zombie holocaust” soundtrack by nico fidenco, remixed by mannequin records boss alessandro adriani on the b side. zombie holocaust movie is another slice of italian zombie craziness for the late 70s/early 1980s. the film, released in 1979, was directed by marino girolami, and starred italian zombie favorite ian mcculloch.

the next release on paul rip s specimen records is by god of the machine, the brainchild of deep house and techno maestro, derrick thompson a.k.a. drivetrain. the ep kicks of with the original, a powerful slice of jackin tribal techno, its bleeps, tones and chants sitting atop a tight percussive groove that s infectious from the first beat to the last drop. next up comes hijacker s electro workout. its beats are old school yet the attitude is set firmly in the future with its square wave bass line, trippy noises and swooping scikfi pads. santonio echols takes it back to detroit with a simple yet driving tech house rendition containing sublime melodic chords, eerie pads and a hypnotic pad stab that sends tingles up your spine. mr.c finishes with one of his typically infectious acid workouts, where he adds a cheeky bassline, haunting pads and cowbell pings to blend and morph into the twisted effects of a psychoactive substance.

iib next release comes from french duo baptiste & pierre. 2 tracks of warm tropical goodness. virage is a deep mellow afro tinged tropical workout. muted guitar hook and nature sounds conjuring up far flung deserted beaches. ruf dug beefs it up a touch and moves it indoors giving it a more afterhours feel. the second track has the same evocative feel as virage with added atmospheric pads and a bouncy melody. like a closing track on an 80s road movie. full of emotion. italian maestro deep 88 creates a truly authentic slice of early ninetoes deep dreamy house. perfectly wrapping the original in warm analogue drums. another quality release from iib.
